A Family for Every Child
We long for the day when there is a loving family for every child. When you purchase from Everlee Gray, you directly support an adoptive and/or foster family.
We’re thrilled to introduce you to the McCarey family, and look forward to supporting them this quarter in their adoption journey. A note from them about their story —
“
Our story began in Mr. Williams Geometry class while we were in the 10th grade. We were both pretty shy and found ourselves in the same friend group. After being friends for 2 years and hanging out every morning before school, we started dating. I guess you can say we were high school sweethearts. After completing college, we got married in May 2017.
When we first got married, we had aspirations of starting a family and we were excited to become parents. After about a year, Courtney became pregnant and our whole family was excited. However, after about 7 weeks she miscarried and we were all crushed. We wouldn’t get pregnant again until a few years later and that also ended in a miscarriage. This led us to see a fertility specialist to try to seek answers for what was going on. After testing, it was determined that we had unexplained infertility and treatment was recommended. We tried 3 series of IUI treatments that were all unsuccessful. The next step was IVF, but we were not certain if this was right for us.
We took a pause and really analyzed our options. The more we reflected and prayed, the more adoption was placed on our hearts. Once we started the journey, we found so many people in our lives that have adopted or have been adopted. From them we were able to learn more about adoption and the joy they received by also going through this process. This really encouraged us and felt it was God leading us to this decision to pursue adoption as a way to start our family.
We and all of our family are excited to welcome this child into our home. We continue to pray for God to lead us in obedience and patience as we navigate through this adoption journey. We are grateful for everyone who has and continues to pour out their love and support to us and we are thankful for all the many prayers for us and our future child.”
